6,000 lbs of food on 1/10th acre – Urban Permaculture (VIDEO)

Southern California family near Pasadena has it’s own Urban Farm. They make more than 6,000 pounds of food per year, on 1/10 acre located just 15 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. Jules Dervaes started with this farm ten years ago. Everything they produce is Organic.

Dervaes family  manage to get more than  90% of their daily food and they report earnings of $20,000 per year (after they eat from what is produced) from their front port sales. They make domestic honey, and also seasonal fruits throughout the year.

They also grow chicken and ducks for to have their own eggs.

In this 10 years of farming they’ve became very successful. Jules Dervaes calls his lifestyle ” THE PATH TO FREEDOM”
